about

Released in 2014 on the EP, Acoustic Equinox, Knuckles has been part of my acoustic repertoire for a while now - including becoming a rock song in my band BOWYANG.
Here is the 'Latest' acoustic version

lyrics

Knuckles © Fraser MacKenzie 2013

Oh I’ve had my taste,
I stepped outside and enjoyed the fun.
Oh what a disgrace,
I can’t reel myself back in to one.

Losing things you’ll never find
looking for them, never mind.
You try to get your way round it.
Oh how I wish I stayed,
making love and getting laid.
Instead I slipped around it.

Get your knuckles off the floor and your fingers in the door
Take everything you need and a little bit more.
Put your shield up.
Draw your sword out
Prepare yourself for war
Hear that battle shout

Lost trace, hold, embrace,
waiting for the time to chase
Instead you look to doubt it
Waiting for you to go,
the only thing you say is ‘no’
I need you. I doubt it.

Rip the saddle off the mule
Get a tank full of fuel
Moving away, start again to a place I can rule
Life, I’ll come for you
Nothing’s ever new
no matter how hard you scream about it
Everyway we think today, should we think some other way?
instead we look by it
Listening to the big voice, do we have another choice?
instead we look by it

No one will ever really care
when someone steals your chair
You can whine and cry and moan
You end up all on your own

Rip the saddle off the mule
Get a tank full of fuel
Moving away, start again to a place I can rule

Get your knuckles off the floor and your fingers in the door
Take everything you need and a little bit more.
